Paul Mollison

Paul hails from a rural Perthshire background and originally trained with a firm in Dundee. He has since accumulated over 25 years of experience in general practice supporting a wide range of clients.

Paul has a great deal of experience in dealing with agricultural clients, whether they are large landed estates or families with smaller holdings. Paul states "the ever changing nature of the tax, commercial and general economic challenges faced in the sector require a pro-active approach to providing effective accounting and tax services to the farming business and the wider family circle".

The retail sector also forms a large part of the portfolio Paul looks after. In this area it is important to ensure that information relating to sales, margins, payroll and VAT, etc. is attended to on an accurate and timely basis to ensure clients are not just compliant in meeting their statutory requirements but that the provision of management information is available to ensure clients businesses are run as profitably as possible, tax planning opportunities are identified and maximum value is retained.

From a small family business background and with over 25 years of experience in the profession, Sandy is well versed in the challenges that face those running their own business.

A career in business and taxation consultancy, dealing with a diverse client base, forms the foundation of the experience he can bring to bear in dealing with clients’ affairs.

Sandy believes the cornerstone of providing support and advice to business is to understand what drives those who run the enterprise, as well as the sector it is operating in. As he says, "Only by investing time and effort into knowing the client, their business and their objectives, can an efficient strategy be developed, monitored and updated."
